Philly: Sunday Brunch At Beau Monde

My family and I were in Beau Monde on 6th and Bainbridge for brunch this weekend. Although it has been a few years since our last visit, walking through the curtains into the main floor felt familiar. I have a few fond memories of coming here including one special night when the man I had started dating gave me – point by point – all the reasons he was husband material. It worked – he convinced me – and years later, we were back for a small family celebration.

This traditional Breton creperie was founded in 1998.  Not much has changed décor wise to Beau Monde’s main dining area and  the ambiance was more casual than I remembered from a few years ago. I did miss seeing the stately potted rosemary topiaries that used to adorn each table. But the food did not disappoint!  We started with the escargot with roasted garlic butter and crostini which was very tasty.  This is definitely still the place to go if you like crepes.  I chose the savory crepe made with buckwheat flour with scrambled eggs, roasted poblano peppers, tomatoes, swiss cheese, avocado corn salsa and caramelized tomato sauce and had a piece of the sweet crepe with bananas, strawberries, and dulce de leche for dessert.
